UTPA Continuous Ed – GHMP
At Moma Consulting, we’ve always been fond of collaborating with students, and recent grads. We have never forgotten how we started, and how challenging it was to work, and get experience when we first graduated. We believe that we can make a difference by staying in touch with universities, and working hand in hand with anyone that approaches us. For these reasons, our Marketing Manager approached the University of Texas Panamerican when we first opened the agency in McAllen, and ever since there has been a close relationship with the Continuous Education Department from UTPA, and Moma Consulting.
The director of this program, along with their staff had been working on the storyboard for the upcoming Global Hospitality Management Program when they approached us with a very special request. Upon meeting with them, we discussed what their idea was, and we helped them tweak it a bit. It was after a couple of meetings that each and everyone’s roles were assigned that we were off to shoot.
The project was divided into 3 shooting days. First, we were to meet at the Holiday Inn Express on South 10th Street to film. Then we would be heading over to McAllen Miller International Airport, where we shot on the landing strip, and inside their facilities to wrap day one.
Day number two, began with a trip over to UTPA’s main Campus to shoot the closing part of the ad. Unlike the rest of the shooting, these scenes were shot using artificial light only, and filling in the shadows as much as we could with a reflector.
On the third day, we drove around MFE to shoot the final details of the video. We then prepared the material, and handed it over to the staff, for it was them who lead this project. Our job as consultants in this particular video, was to assist them on location, and helping them create a video that they could use to promote their Global Hospitality Management Program.
Once the video editing was done, the staff invited us, the manager from the Holiday Inn Express, and the director of operations from the airport to watch the Premier, and provide any feedback.
It was a great experience for us being able to assist a group of very talented soon to graduate students in creating a project that means a lot to the Continuous Education Program at UTPA.
